It sounds like you are exporting as PostScript (printing uses the same
code). The simple reason for the vectors not being present is that the
code has never been written. There are a few options available to you:

(1) Export as an XPM file; this will give you a bitmapped copy of the
    screen image.

(2) Export using the GL2PS library; this is only an option if you are
    using the GL rendering, of course, but if you have lighting
    disabled, then the rendering is much simpler, and the PostScript
    file may still be reasonably small.
