Subject: [zonecheck-tests] nameservers are using the same IP address

Hello folks,

I am just about to configure zone check for our purposes. While testing
I came across that output being obviously wrong (sorry for the locale
settings):

#######################################
#
ZONE  : udag.de.
NS <= : server1-ns1.udagdns.net. [62.146.28.82, 62.146.28.82]
NS    : server1-ns3.udagdns.net. [62.146.33.102]
NS    : server1-ns2.udagdns.net. [62.146.33.101]

f> All addresses should be distinct
| Adv: ZoneCheck
| To avoid loosing all connectivity with the autoritative DNS in case
| of network outage it is advised to host the DNS on different networks.

| Ref: IETF RFC2182 (Abstract)
| The Domain Name System requires that multiple servers exist for
every
| delegated domain (zone). This document discusses the selection of
| secondary servers for DNS zones. Both the physical and topological
| location of each server are material considerations when selecting
| secondary servers. The number of servers appropriate for a zone is
also
| discussed, and some general secondary server maintenance issues
| considered.

 :   : The nameservers server1-ns1.udagdns.net.,
server1-ns1.udagdns.net.
 : are using the same IP address (62.146.28.82).
 `..... .. .. . .  .

==> FEHLSCHLAG
#
#######################################

For any reason my local resolver receives two identical addresses while
resolving server1-ns1.udagdns.net:

$ dnsqr a server1-ns1.udagdns.net
1 server1-ns1.udagdns.net:
73 bytes, 1+2+0+0 records, response, noerror
query: 1 server1-ns1.udagdns.net
answer: server1-ns1.udagdns.net 172798 A 62.146.28.82
answer: server1-ns1.udagdns.net 172798 A 62.146.28.82

While this behaviour of my resolver is strange, the answer (FEHLSCHLAG
means failure) is definitely wrong, because the hostnames are equal,
too.

Any idea how this can be fixed?

Kind regards
