gvfs is unrelated to gv.  It is the GIO Virtual File System used by gnome.

The version of ghostscript should be something like 9.10 or 9.14.

The problem looks like something wrong with ghostscript or a font.

What happens if you take gv out of the picture and run ghostscript directly with

gs -sDEVICE=x11 stampa.ps

Is there any difference if you run ghostscript with an option to use postscript fonts in preference to fonts provided by the X server?

gs -sDEVICE=x11 -dNOPLATFONTS stampa.ps
