Comment:
This adds a script and a template file, changes the cron.d file to not run dns
scripts every hour and installs dns.zone instead of dns.head as the zone needs
not to be changed.
What is missing is the upgrade phase, it should change old setups to remove the
cron.d entries (this probably is just changed when installing the new cron.d
file) and:
Remove the old dns.zone file,
Add the wildcard lines at the bottom of the dns.head file or remove that to and
install the simple template as dns.zone.
Reverse stuff is still not there.

Comment:
i don't think this is a good idea ... while some sites, especially home
installations, would benefit from this, a larger setup (like mine) will
eventually need to split the server into a few different boxen ... perhaps if
included, this patch could be made an option at install time ... ie:

"Use simple DNS setup? This option will change the DNS configuration to simply
point every subdomain to this host's IP address."

Comment:
This was submitted after a discussion with the maintainers.
The intention is to have either an install option or a seperate package for
multi-machine setup but at this time the package is set up for a single machine
setup.

Comment:
I tend to agree with ru2def here. When I stated on IRC that I wanted a single
machine setup, I meant that it had to be possible to run Debian-SF on a single
machine. Making it the default would be arguable, but making it the only
possibility is no good.

I therefore postpone this patch until it is updated to make the behaviour it
adds optional (via a debconf question for instance). Thanks :-)

Comment:
Nothing in the current setup supports multi machine setup in an automated way,
I don't see how this would change that.

I also don't see any setups getting bigger than the original SF.net wich is
doing all its dns with wildcards like the setup I set up, but if you think that
this is neccesary then I will make the option now instead of later as I
intended.
