We have had very positive reports on later versions (2.5-32 and up).  Unless 
someone steps up and confirms this bug is still active, I'll probably close it

Summary:  sourceforge-2.5-29 fails on virgin woody system

Original Submission:  Installing 2.5-29 on a virgin woody system fails in the 
LDAP setup section.  

When I fill in the dialogs with what should very very benign DNs, etc., SF 
fails to install due to "bad credentials" reported by LDAP.  Any insights would 
be appreciated as this bug is as clear as mud...

I think this has been fixed since then.
Could you try and reproduce with more recent versions?
