Well....  Savannah is based on sourceforge.

I am interested in debiansf and savannah, in creating an interface for
uploading projects and not having to use these frustrating web UIs.

Tell me, how hard is it to replace the html output of sf with xml.
Better yet use some xmlrpc lib to do the outputting. 
As for the accepting posts, that cannot be that hard to create some
interceptor into the posting. A way to take the form variables and
store them in xml snippets, and then post them. Surly XMLRPC is the way
to do this?

I am thinking of just gutting this file upload module and finding some
way to inject the variables into it. The waste of time is parsing and
posting these complex forms. Even a simple html form with no frills,
one page perl post and not so many embedded posts. That would be easy
to script. 

The guys from web-ide are on the right path. debian-sf and savannah are
unique in terms that they are more open than sourceforge. It should be
easier to agree on a stripped down interface into the form.

What do you think? Is this the right way to go? are you interested in
doing some testing with me?
