How do I make a note (thread starting note) to go away without a
trace? I already cleared the 'catalog_notes' in 'courses'-folder but
the note is still there. Where do you store them?

There is no way to really permanently delete a note.

Technical reason: What should we do with the replies? They would be
deleted too.

Pedagogical reason: Students will get confused if stuff just
disappears. The current remove functionality will replace the subject
and contents with a notice saying that the note has been removed
because [insert reason given by teacher]. This keeps the system more
transparent and fair, at least in our opinion. People should learn to
consider what they write - they can't remove any e-mails they send
either, so this is a real skill that is necessary for everyone. This
remove functionality is just there to allow the teacher to remove any
clearly damaging notes (like swearing or personal attacks, or illegal
behaviour).

If, after all this, you still want to delete a note, note its address
in the location bar, then enter Zope Management, go to this location
and delete the note. All replies will also be lost. You need to be
FleManager or Zope Manager in order to do this.
