How soon is "major face list in near future" suppposed to be? I consider
informing the user of incorrect input as fundamental to virtually any tool.

Category: bmc-config
Severity: 5 - Average
Item Group: Improper Behaviour
Resolution: Later
Assigned to: ab
Status: Closed

Summary: bmc-config doesn't output error when invalid keyname is used

Original Submission: When an invalid key name is entered with the -k option,
bmc-config executes without producing an error message, giving the impression
that the request was successful. If someone had a 1 character typo in the key
name, they would not realize it and assume that the key they had intended to
enter was successfully updated.

bmc-config has matured enough to take a major face lift in near future.
Planning to push the real job of config file parsing to Scheme and export lower
level primitives. Key names and config file format will change.

For now remainig silent for unknown keys is expected behaviour.
