Hi Philip,
Have you tried the "-W discretereading" workaround? Short story w/ the
workaround, HP motherboards have a unique bug in their firmware such
that ipmitool and FreeIPMI output incorrect information. There's a
small blurb about it here:

If that doesn't work, can you please provide me w/ --debug output from
your "ipmi-sensors -h *** -u *** -p *** -D LAN_2_0 -r 8 -vv" below.
