Nokia 3360/3390 different from 3310/3330

ooppss.... wrong error response

in the US i tried using 3390 using the CVS download. i was able to getsms
but not sendsms. the error is sms send failed. unhandled frame received.

my configuration is :
OS : redhat linux 7.2
phone : Nokia 3390
network : cingular(California, US)

/etc/gnokiirc :
port = /dev/ttyS0
model = 6110
connection = serial
# require_dcd = 1 (COMMENTED)


my command from the shell is :
#echo "testing" | gnokii --sendsms +14155332986

the response was :
GNOKII Version 0.4.0pre17
Please enter SMS text. End your input with <cr><control-D>:SMS Send failed

hi guys,

i was able to download yesterday CVS 20020415 and made a test on faraway
continents thanks to the help of people who let me in on their test servers.

in the US i tried using 3390 using the CVS download. i was able to getsms
but not sendsms. the error is segmentation fault.

in the Philippines i tried using 3310 using the same download and i was to 
getsms
and sendsms. sendsms is successful.

i may theorize that 3360/3390 are different with the european/asian version
models.

what do you think guys. possibly they have a lot in common but there are some
differences in communicating with the phone.
