"GSM/FBUS init failed" when using pipe?

Hello,

I am attempting to create my own GUI using mygnokii
exec commands.
When I send any command, using a pipe I get the
following line back through the pipe:

GSM/FBUS init failed! (Unknown model ?). Quitting.

However I can successfully use the command line to
connect to the phone.

Does anyone know the reason why this is happening?
