New to the list + Flashing under Linux

I'm new to the list,
and new to mobiles
is there any tools to flash phones for linux?
(I haven't finishing my MBus cable yet, but
can gnokki upload from the PC Op Logos, Start Up logos and Pic messages to 
3310? I know it can store pi messages and op logos but can it sent it back? 
- seems quite a stupid quiestion but I'm just clearing my doubts.....
