Hello,
The SMS DELIVER STATUS REPORT is different from regular SMS DELIVER TPDU.
The deliver Status REPORT can be identified from the First Octet in the SMS TPDU. Its value is generally 0x06(bits 1 and 0 are set to 1 and 0 respectively, as specified in GSM 03.40).
That is how the phone recognizes it to be different from normal Short Message.

my provider can send "reports", they send you message back that the sms
was delivered... I'm not sure if it is a plain sms, because the phone
recognizes them as being a report (by placnig an "i" instead of an
envelope icon in front of it)
