SMS Send failed (Problem occured internal to model specific code.)

Hiya.

I managed to compile the latest cvs of gnokii on my system after altering a 
section in the configure.in and one line in Makefile.global.in (I have 
included the updated files in the attached  tar file) and then passing a few 
extra paramaters to gmake.

Set it up,  configured up gnokiirc according to the readmes and hten tried 
to send an sms.  I got the above error.  This is only going to be an sms 
service,  so getting errors on sending an sms is not my plan.   ;-)

The phone is  a gnokii 7110 ( I think.  It is hard to check from here;  I am 
configuring this remotely)
It is conencted to the serial port of the system.  I no longer remember what 
type of data cable it is,  I was not aware there was more than one type.  
:-(
The gnokii version is 0.6.1,  acquired by cvs earlier today.
The OS is OpenBSD 3.5.

I get the following output from gnokii --identify:
