Good Day!
I'm a first time user of gnokii and I have a couple of inquiries ....
when i test gnokii it returns an error like this
address@hidden gnokii-0.6.2]# gnokii --monitor
GNOKII Version 0.6.2
Telephone interface init failed: Device not ready.
Quitting.
can someone kindly show me the light on making gnokii run :). i have
read a lot of resources regarding gnokii but I can't seem do it right. i
would gladly send information regarding my set-up to help troubleshoot
my problem.
Thanks in advance...
here is what i did.
upon installing gnokii, I haven't encountered any compile errors and at
the end of the configure part (by issuing ./autogen.sh) I receive a
message like
Host system: linux-gnu
Gnokii version: 0.6.2
Xgnokii version: 20030104
X (GTK) support: no
Debug: yes
XDebug: yes
RLPDebug: yes
NLS: no
IrDA: yes
ical read support: no
Bluetooth: no
Security: no
Build Shared Lib: yes
Build Static Lib: yes
Win32: no
Prefix: /usr/local
and after that i issue a 'make'
then i add a group 'gnokii'
then make install
make install-suid
make install-strip
make install-ss
make install-docs
installation looks to run smoothly but the above error still shows up.
(Telephone interface init failed: Device not ready.
Quitting.)
I use RedHat 9.0, N6150, and a serial cable
