Hello,

while moving forward with the GTK2 based installer (we are really
pushing forward with this) I've had a look at the Gnoppix desktop again
and there are some questions that came up:

I've seen your call for a Gnoppix logo an savannah. Are there any news
about that? Is one already available? I believe this is kind of
important to give Gnoppix a face. In fact, I'm missing a bit of a
straight line in the whole Gnoppix layout and desktop. There's so much
to simplify and improve.

Also, is it possible to save the configuration to the harddisk
somewhere? I haven't found such an option. This could be realized by
mounting a directory on an existing partition as home directory. Gnoppix
could check for this directory while booting up.

Then, I have been looking for a roadmap for Gnoppix but I have not found
one on gnoppix.org. Is there any?

And is there a way to find the Gnoppix version out? I believe there
should be an about box somewhere, but I haven't found one. (If there
isn't I'd create a GTK2 one - should I?) But of course, this about box
needs to get the Gnoppix version from a text file or something. Where is
it?

The last thing, I'd like to ask whoever is responsible for uploading the
Gnoppix core (amu?) again to please upload the config stuff into CVS.
Right now, I have loopmounted the Gnoppix CD to edit things like that,
which is really not the way I should have to do this.
I have a lot of ideas for improvements, and I'd really like to change
the config files to improve things, but CVS should be updated before.

Thanks,
-Samuel
