If xelatex is renamed pdflatex, but then

- *requires* a resource contained within pdflatexand
- therefore itself tries to 'call' pdflatex
- which was unfortunately in this scenario instead renamed to xelatex

maybe the net effect is that xelatex ends up 'calling' itself ?
