most current dists go some way: like an index file of a few
doc sources for convenience. this is not nearly a solution to
the problem.
for example, they do not display tex dvi documentation, or X
system reference docs, and they do not have a single
*small+fast* app to bring up this help. - you usually have
to browse it with konqueror or mozilla to get good results.
IMO free software really needs a single universal help system
that integrates ALL documentation
