One of the goals of GNU social was to add more social features to GNU
FM. GNU social itself has hit a point of little development, but much
of the code that powers identi.ca and StatusNet is GNU social.
Luke Slater (aka @reality) has done some work on OStatus features for GNU FM.
We'd like to be able to allow you to share your listening habits with
many OStatus systems. I'm pleased to say, we could do this very easily
with Atom and software like Brdcst.it -- by publishing an Atom feed of
your listening habits, you would be able to easily mirror this on a
StatusNet site, or publish it to a variety of systems using Brdcst.it.

I doubt they'll go for it. Once you start doing stuff like that you are on the path to being MySpace/facebook and I'm pretty sure that's not what they want. That said, I too would also *love* to see that integration. I'd want to see it end there, but then people would be wanting flickr integration and just integration after integration. Of course, I don't speak for @evan and status.net. Just my two cents. Also, IANAL.
