Hi,
I am new here and subscribed to seek help with my srtp issue. But first
I went through archive and found your recent messages.
I think you are somehow confused, thinking that Linphone VoIP SIP
service provides access to phone numbers.
https://www.linphone.org/freesip/home explains:
Linphone.org hosts a free SIP service that allows users to make audio or video calls using SIP addresses via the domain sip.linphone.org.
You can test your service by trying to call thetestcall@sip.linphone.org
or any other SIP address found over internet like
https://sip5060.net/test-calls/ or
https://www.jumpjet.info/Offbeat-Internet/Public/SIP/url.htm
In order to get an inbound phone number, or to call any *number* you
will need to subscribe to another service than sip.linphone.org.
Hope this helps
Andrej

Sorry, new to this service, so may be very basic issue. I signed up for
the linphone account to simply use an ethernet based phone (Grandstream)
for personal use. I don't have a regular phone jack in home office, but
do have a coax port to tie into home internet (my regular phone is VOIP,
but again no port to use that).
Grandstream registered my phone, and they said everything looks fine
with my linphone information, but when I call any number, all I get is a
fast busy. Grandstream suggested that my account is not activated. Do
I need to link the phone to a separate phone number, i.e., not my home
phone?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as the phone has simply
been a paperweight for two months. Thanks!

I am trying to use my VOIP phone through Linphone. The phone is
registered, but when I dial it says Bad Request. Tech support indicated
my number needs to be activated, but I don't know how to do that.
