(http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/f10b7a578e2c).  I also added some
tests in mappers.cc for the new return values for exceptional inputs.  This
will all be part of the 3.8 release due in a few weeks.  Thanks for
contributing.
