Follow-up Comment #3, patch #8221 (project octave):
Were exactly do you need more space for the Dutch translation?
QScintilla has its own translation files. You can find them in
/usr/share/qt4/translations/. Version 2.7.2 comes with cs, es, de, fr, pt_BR,
and ru. That is why there is no qscintilla text in de_DE.ts. When updating the
*.ts files for other languages, the scan path also includes the relevant
qscintilla sources and I just have found out that I forgot to include the
bash-lexer, sorry.
Could you please check in the translation? I will update then the language
files _with_ bash lexer and will have a look at the string that is too large
for the available space.
The translators are loaded before the welcome wizard and the strings should be
included in the .ts-files. Actually, I can see them in nl_NL.ts (last updated
with changeset http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/6e15053c0fe5).
