Follow-up Comment #1, patch #8562 (project octave):
I'm not sure we need instructions on how to set up mercurial and git. There's
plenty of online guides for the general parts, and the Octave wiki would be a
better place for Octave specific instructions (there's already a mercurial
page).
The basics of generating a changeset are also in the Octave manual

and really, the last thing we need with the lack of man power is repeated
information which will only take longer to update.
