Update of patch #9967 (project octave): Category: None => Core : other Priority: 5 - Normal => 3 - Low Status: None => Need Info _______________________________________________________ Follow-up Comment #1: Thank you for your contribution 🙂 I reviewed your patch (little formatted): - <shortdesc>Interactive programming environment for numerical computations</shortdesc> + <shortdesc>Interactive mathematical programming environment for numerical computations</shortdesc> - <shortdesc xml:lang="de">Interaktive Programmierumgebung für numerische Berechnungen</shortdesc> + <shortdesc xml:lang="de">Interaktive mathematische Programmierumgebung für numerische Berechnungen</shortdesc> I totally agree with your observation, it should be easy to find Octave using the term "math". For the KDE software center on openSUSE 15.2 this is the case. In my opinion "mathematical" and "numerical" are redundant in this short sentence. Was it enough to mention "math" somewhere in the long description? Is there any documentation about what is necessary for discovery? A second point is that there are almost two identical files "/octave.doap" and "/etc/icons/org.octave.Octave.appdata.xml". Do you have information about which one is used by your Linux distribution? In any case changes should be made to both files. https://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/file/cae0d9ab685b/octave.doap https://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/file/cae0d9ab685b/etc/icons/org.octave.Octave.appdata.xml _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/patch/?9967> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
