The difference between "Fees" and "Taxes" in the USA- "Taxes" must be duly voted upon using established legal processes. Very time consuming, and outcomes are never certain. Records of politicians votes are public and visible. "Fees" Require no vote and may simply be mandated by fiat, hence the growing amount of "Fees" embedded in laws. Lower bars to approve a fee than to get approval for a tax. Politicians can hide in anonymity while they quietly harvest the same revenue for the State. |
