[Taler] Token bartering?

Taler folks,

I would like one more FAQ question adressed: "What

prevents bartering using tokens?". If Taler becomes

popular, couldn't buyers and sellers start swapping

tokens as payments and thereby bypass VAT and to

some extent taxation (because one always has a

good stash of tokens)?
