And then that society would gain a mechanism for _anonymous_ and
_unlinkable_ age verification, controlled by parents/wardens (not other
institutions).

Quite the contrary:  If anonymous, unlinkable age verification, mediated
by parents/wardens, does not exist, legislation will demand other means
of age verification which - to my knowledge - lack either the privacy
preserving properties or subsidiarity principle.

I guess we have to aggree to disagree on the impact and dangers of the
proposed age restriction scheme in GNU Taler.
