Actually, it looks like a keyboard limitation.  While holding X and C,
no events are sent for Esc press or release.  Holding X and Z and
pressing Esc gives the same results.  However while holding C and V,
pressing Esc triggers press and release events.  So Maybe we should
change the keys for Crop to something else?

[ X S ] + < Esc > works.  Maybe we should use that?

 Works: XA, XS, XD
Broken: XZ, XC
