Uh, just help yourself with any moons you need :). I really couldn't say
how many there would be, or even which number would make sense.
(Although I have the feeling that an uneven number might be nicer, less
artificial somehow.)

One thought is that there could be 3 celestial bodies (not quite moons,
but not really comets either) that appear in short, regular intervalls.
The seasons could for example have been defined by them. But then again,
we already have introduced the usual spring, summer, fall and winter
scheme, so there's little point in changing that all of a sudden.

But anyway, you're coming up with all those stories, so you should pick
what suits you most.
