The second remark, about where to put bold and where to put strike-through, I
suppose that depends on how one looks at it.

The Compare tool originally was intended to compare a newer project with an
older one.

So then, P2 is viewed as the older project, and it has the word "new". P1 is
viewed as the most recent project, and it does not have the word "new". If the
newer project, P1, has lost "new", as compared to the older project, P2, then
this word "new" has been removed from the text in P1, and therefore is given
with strike-out.

Hope this is fine.
