By the way, if you want to see Youtube videos with Gnash, you'll need
the latest dev version. The one in the Ubuntu repositories no longer
work.
But you could use youtube-dl to download the videos and watch them
with totem. Or you could install totem plugins and use the youtube
plugin to search and stream the videos directly in totem.
