[bug-sourceinstall] sourceinstall Error |

I get the following error when I try to run "sourceinstall" from either
the command line or the gtk front-end:
"sourceinstall: error while loading shared libraries: libsrcinst.so.0:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" (The
quotation marks are mine.)
I just installed the packages (libsrcinst-2.3, sourceinstall-2.3, and
sourceinstall-gtk-2.3) from source on a gNewSense system. I tracked
down and installed all dependencies beforehand, specifically "texinfo"
and "gtk+ 2.0."
Before I installed "libsrcinst-2.3" I made sure that the ginstall-info
command was in my $PATH before dpkg's install-info.
Finally, I looked for the library file "libsrcinst.so.0" which the
error message above says is missing and found it in the /usr/local/lib
directory. It is a symbolic link pointing to the "libsrcinst.so.0.0.0"
library.
Any advice on what to do or where to look from here.
Sincerely,
Russ James
