Ok, now I understand. This was just really a misunderstanding from my
part. However, 1) this behaviour should be documented somewhere (I
couldn't find this from the manual), and 2) it's anyway very confusing
that a component behaves differently depending whether some of its port is
connected or not and 3) IMHO, rather than writing a C level model a
transistor level model should be created that electric could use
automatically.

I see. Actually, quite cool feature now that I know it.

Ok, it's not critical anyway. I just select few more times "screen
redraw".

Let's say that a schematics fills the editing window nicely. Then I drag
the bottom-right corner downward and rightward, that is, enlarge the
window. If the window manager does an opaque resize, it actually enlargens
the edit window maybe dozen time per second, continuously as I drag my
mouse.
Each of the resize operations causes electric to zoom the schematics a bit
smaller (it always gets smaller, no matter if I make the window smaller or
larger). The result is that when I enlargen the window, the schematics
"escapes to infinity", ie. it gets very small and I have to select "Fill
Window" after a resize.

And yet one problem more, not critical but anyway: electric 6.04 has the
new feature that when moving scrollbars, the window gets updated in
realtime. Unfortunately this seems to bring some problem in the simulation
waveform window: the mouse button seems often to "stuck" down so that i
need to press button second time to release the scrollbar.
(well, this one *could* be a lesstif problem too, but probably not)

By the way, the new "insert instance" menu in the component panel is
really nice, something I have hoped for a while. The best new feature I
have found so far.

(CC'd to the public mailing list, since at least for me your mail
clarified very much some of the points in the program)
