If i try to configure a password ftp in connections -> add menu, with a
virginal gnome-keyring (daemon launched but never used before) then gcmd
crashes with
** (gnome-commander:11812): CRITICAL **: GnomeCmdConRemote*
gnome_cmd_con_remote_new(const gchar*, const string&): assertion `uri != NULL'
failed
and if i use 'new connection' then nothing happens, with
** (gnome-commander:12050): CRITICAL **: gboolean
gnome_cmd_connect_dialog_edit(GnomeCmdConRemote*): assertion `server != NULL'
failed
Wouldn't that need to work out of the box, and even if gkr was not used or
configured before ?
And think about people running KDE or not any of both (KDE / Gnome) sessions at
all. Do they really need to have both kwallet and gkr ? Thos does not sound
like 'freedesktop integration'...There should be an independent manager, i just
could not find any by now.
So, i wonder if it was a good idea to still keep the local password storage, as
an option.
