Yes, that’s the file that caused me trouble in the past.  I cannot be
100% certain, though, that other files also needed removing.  (At least
for the GDM user it worked fine to delete the whole directory.)

This appears to expected when using “guix gc”.  I get this also without
a major upgrade to GNOME.  The background picture then reverts to white.

Oh, hadn’t seen this one before.

Are these icons refered to by absolute file name?  Might they have been
garbage collected?

Thanks for testing it!  We still have the other GNOME upgrade that’s
waiting for a rebase, which would also require some testing.
