It all depends on how the that specific software export the data. In
GNU Health is easy to import information coming from csv or xml file,
thanks to the Tryton framework, so you can upload it to the specific
patient test

When you send images, scanned data, or other binary data, you can
attach them that patient model, or to other model related to the
patient (such as labs ). There are different communication methods
that could be arranged, from simple email, to the internal messaging
enginge.
