Hello,

I have been trying to conduct a task within Linux for some time, and I have not been able to do it. For a quick description of what I tried doing, I will provide a link to a thread, which is located on linuxforums.org:

http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/linux-applications/97345-xephyr-xmacro.html

To say the least, I'm doing a process over and over.

I sometimes mess with programs, such as GIMP, and I don't have the time to mess around coding a batch-processing script. Therefore, I use mostly if not always keyboard commands and sometimes mouse clicks. Yet within one Xephyr window, I know that not all of the computer's resources are being used for this one repetitive macro. Therefore, I open another window with GIMP and run another macro.

By doing this, I've got ! the computer multitasking.
However, it wasn't too successful. I don't know why, but Xmacro couldn't handle what I was doing.
The results were very odd and sloppy. Also, I don't think they worked as I would have hoped.

Will xnee allow me to do what I want to do?

I want to open a client window, load the OS and whatnot, run the macro: The macro will load gimp, process certain images, and do these tasks over and over.
Yet I want to do this with four different Xephyr windows.

Also, I'm glad to see that you've created xnee and other packages. I have been complaining on the Linux forums about the inadequate amount of macro programs within Linux distros. At the moment, I'm still trying to figure out what Linux OS will let me create a Live-CD with a macro program, such as xnee or xmacro on it. I haven't found a way to get those onto a Live-CD in accordance to my system resources, which I don't have a lot of RAM: 512 MB.

I'll probably have to look! into all of this more, but what is the possibility of you creating xn ee for a Live distro? Could someone possibly create a module for MySLAX Creator?

Do you have any idea how I get could xnee+gnee+others on a Live distro and then get them working?
I'm thinking it probably wouldn't work right, because it needs to observe key commands and etc.
I'm arm-chair thinking, because I haven't been able to use any macro program with a live-cd.

How would these programs work when within a Live distro?
Any way to get them inside of Live distro?

Thank you for taking the time to read this email.
