If you're using GNU/Linux you most certainly multitask without doing the
above. I am not sure why you want to do the above, do you want to test
the load on the CPU?

I haven't worked with Xmacro so I have no idea.

You can record a session (on any X server) with Xnee and replay the same
session (on any X server (incl xvfb, xnest and xephyr) using Xnee so I
guess Xnee can help you out here.

On my machine cnee has the size: 1241342
and when I strip it: 179512
so I figure there should be room/space for 180K on the CD and certainly
enough for your RAM. I have been using xnee on system with much less RAM
than 512.

As a matter of fact I have 512 MB on the machine on which I am hacking
Xnee. But yes, I am thinking about upgrading to more ;)

The possibility of me creating a Live distro of GNU/Linux is less than
you creating it.

Simply put the binaries (make sure you tell the user's where they can
find the sources) in the live distro.

Make sure that XTest and RECORD extensions are installed and enabled in
the X server and cnee/gnee/pnee should work.

No difference from when run from HD. That's the beauty of a live CD.
Most apps will run the same way, only very special ones will behave
differently.

You have to ask your favo-distro of GNU/Linux to include Xnee.
