"fatal error: symbol expected following @@V"

Hi,

I've been running into troubles as some of my Lout documents grow in
size. I can build the PS if I start from scratch and delete all ld and ldx
files but when I build without deleting the ld/ldx files I get 

  lout file "book.ld":
  5757,6: fatal error: symbol expected following @@V

Anyone got any hints on what may cause this?

I guess its hard to help me without seeing all the files but this is a
rather large project so I hope someone had seen something similar before.
