Well, the current packages don't allow for a full-width image on
the title page, so that means you have to go in and hack the
standard package - bookf in this case.  Just track down what
that package does now with, say, @Author, and add an optiona
alongside @Author called, say @TitleIllustration, and add
an invocation of @TitleIllustration somewhere near the
invocation of @Author, in the form you want.

You can't expect a general package to anticipate every possible
requirement, that's what Lout is extensible in this way.
