LYNX-DEV 2-6 on Mot

I have just downloaded 2-6, which I am hoping is the current version, 
and am having some trouble getting it to compile.  C not being one of 
my better languages (as in rusty to the point of being inert), I'm 
hoping for some help.

Version         2-6
Plaform         Motorola 88K
OS              R40V4.3  (SVR4.4.3 to the rest of the world)
Compiler        gcc comes with the operating system

I am getting many instances of the following warning:

But the real problem is:

LYCurses.c: In function `setup':

*** Error code 1 (bu21)

Suggestions?
