Unless your system already has lynx installed system-wide, the lynx.cfg
file won't be available.  Note that the message says that
"Lynx_dir:lynx.cfg" is unavailable and you said that lynx.cfg was in the
same directory as the lynx executable.  Unless that directory is on the
drive and path pointed to by the logical Lynx_dir:, then it's not where
lynx is looking for it.  If you're building it in your home directory,
you'll need to define the lynx.cfg path in userdefs.h to be wherever you
have the lynx.cfg located.  Something like DISK$USER:[HWL0978.LYNX]LYNX.CFG
should do the trick.

If your system DOES have lynx installed system wide, you could find the
location of the old lynx.cfg and point to it, but a LOT has changed since
2.3, and you really should use the current lynx.cfg with local mods made
to it.
