LYNX-DEV Debian is not converting to RPM

Debian is not converting to RPM. There is a package tool to convert DPKG
packages to RPM currently being tested, just as there is a package tool
that has existed for some time to convert RPM packages to DPKG. The
possibility exists that Debian could be distributed in RPM form, and
I have considered uploading it to WWW.RPM.ORG in that form. However, this
does not mean that Debian would abandon DPKG. 

Future directions for DPKG include a better user interface (we all agree
it's necessary) and probably POSIX packages with extensions to handle
dependencies (because POSIX packages look easy to do).
