Those are only relevant for -dump or print output, not for controlling
display parameters in interactive mode - is that what you are referring
to?

If SUBSTITUTE_UNDERSCORES and -underscore don't work in 2.7 as intended,
then that shouldn't have anything to do with slang etc.
