LYNX-DEV Autoconfig interactivity?

Subject: LYNX-DEV Autoconfig interactivity?

Has anyone built one of the test versions of trn lately? Wayne uses
an interactive autoconfigure that prompts for a whole bunch of input,
a lot of which is the kind of thing that lynx uses userdefs.h, the
'o'ption screen, etc., for.

I have no idea what it would take to incorporate some of that into
lynx's autoconfig, but I've noticed that people like myself who don't
know much about anything, and even a few people who _do_ know things,
have problems setting the right CFLAGS, CPPFLAGS, and what not for
non-standard lib locations for ncurses, slang, zlib, et al.

If lynx asked where the files were hidden when it can't find them
itself, that would be pretty cool.

Probably way more work than it's worth, unfortunately.
