first, update to Lynx 2-8-1 from  www.slcc.edu/lynx/release/ :
it has many large & small improvements, which may be relevant,
& generally the Lynx volunteer crew don't support older versions.

second, tell us what URL you were visiting, what system you use
-- eg UNIX, Windows, DOS: as much as you can -- & anything else you know.

the hard-disk limit is probably a separate problem,
but it could be that Lynx can't find a temporary file it needs.
