This option is not the "disable means don't compile", it's the "disable
means don't make it the default". No one commented on my earlier post
about the overloading of the term disable. I'd suggest making the
comments more specific, rather than changing the configure options.
But if someone suggests better terms than "disable", I'll go with it.
