Perhaps it's something set in your lynx.cfg (a DOWNLOADER line)?  I don't
know.  It does sound as if something is being trashed, but I've seen no
sign of a problem with that.  The problem might show up in a trace -
otherwise, the only thing to do is to add some traces to the relevant code
to see where the incorrect url is first used.
