I argued for KiB; I'm not changing. But I just noticed the following
(mis)behavior: I had a connection bottleneck, and the rate
display counted down:
Read 9 KiB of data, 1.2 KiB/sec.
Read 9 KiB of data, 1.1 KiB/sec.
Read 9 KiB of data, 999 KiB/sec.
...
I suspect there's a decimal point missing in the last value.
I suppose the best way to test this is with a slow modem
connection, if you still have a modem so slow in your junk
box.
