The "CHANGES" file lists versions - but it sounds as if you're looking for
the string that lynx uses to identify itself.  The user-agent string is
generated in the options menu when it's empty.  I'd only look for the
beginning of the string, e.g., "Lynx/2.8.6dev.6".  The second part doesn't
change (the libWWW part).  After that there's some detail for the SSL library
and finally the curses/slang version.  Since the last two correspond to
build configuration that's independent of lynx, it would be hard to list
all of them.
